CIMBL is a 100% volunteer group of citizens just like you that decided to do something about keeping our beautiful rural roadways in Placer County free of unsightly litter and debris. We meet twice a month 10 months out of the year (once in July) and remove litter for 3 hours on a Saturday morning.

CIMBL will also help any organization or group in the Placer County area organize their own clean up - whether its a few neighbors getting together or a large company event, and provide all the equipment and logistics - including removing the debris once it's been collected. We also help individuals that want to clean their neighborhoods by providing sticks, bags and vests.

CIMBL began with a handful of Saturday morning litter fighters in 1994. Now hundreds of volunteers strong, the team opens 2008 having collected over 29,000 bags of roadside trash (and over 2,000 discarded tires) collected from Placer County roadways. CIMBL was winner of the Outstanding Environmental Achievement 2001 Award from Keep California Beautiful, Inc.

Bag Counter:

As of 5/16/2009: 32,149 bags and 2141 tires removed from Placer County Roadways since 1994

when CIMBL began. (That works out to over 288 tons* of litter )

In 2009: 1247 bags and 40 tires

(these counts don't include the countless piles of garbage like appliances, car parts, and mattresses that we've collected)

Mileage Counter:

As of 5/02/2009: 3,158 miles of roadways cleaned since CIMBL began.

In 2009 alone: 91 miles

(*According to Keep California Beautiful, the average weight of a bag of litter picked up along a roadside is 18 pounds)
