More than half of the six-plus billion people on earth pray to icons or idols. Hindus worship thousands of gods, and have at least one idol representing at least one of those gods in their homes. In Asia, Buddhists worship before idols of the Buddha and other Buddhist deities. In the Americas, followers of Vodun, Santeria, Condumbre and those who worship the gods of the Maya and Aztecs pray to a multitude of idols representing their Pagan deities. Navajos have their Kachinas. The list goes on and on.
Catholics, Roman and other denominations under the broad umbrella of Catholicism, likely worship more spirit gods and demigods than the Hindus, but will not admit that they woship idols of those saints | ![]() Our Lady of the New Millenium |
