Assumption of the BVM

Catholics render worship (latria, hyperdulia or dulia) to a great pantheon of gods and goddesses, as do Hindus and followers of some other worldly religions. When confronted concerning this, A Catholic might argue that his prayers to one of Rome's multitude of saints, venerables or whatever actually honor God. In no way does paying homage to any person or spirit apart from God somehow honor God. To God alone be the glory! To Rome be the shame of mocking Almighty God by promoting worship, adoration, privilege, power, reparation and sacrifice to any created being other than the righteous God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! I find it strange that Catholicism, ,in her replacement theology, claims to be Judaism fulfilled, yet violates the very heart of Judaic worship. Observant Jews have, for millennia, repeated Shema daily. And what are the words of Shema? Read these words from a page on the Hebrew Roots web site:
Observant Jews have always known that there is but one Godhead, who exists as more than two Persons. Those true believers known as Christians have always known that there is but one Godhead, who exists as three distinct Persons. The Catholic Church, which claims to be both Christian and the fulfillment of Judaism, can't seem to get it right. The Whore on the Tiber recognizes the Triune Godhead as senior to a multitude of minor gods she refers to as saints, principle of which is Catholic Mary. Romanism has declared that their marian goddess shares a number of the powers Christians and Jews believe to be reserved to God alone. Have you noticed? When the Catholic Queen of the Heavens and Earth makes her much publicized 'appearances,' no one can see or hear her but the medium, whom Catholics refer to as a visionary. Only the three kids at Fatima were able to see their ghostly visitor. There have been hundreds of thousands of pilgrim visitors to Medjugorje, but only six mediums who claim to communicate with her. Maria de Guadalupe, the patroness of Mexico, was seen by only one medium, a Native American given the 'Christian' name of Juan Diego. The spirit visitor to St. Joseph's Catholic church in Emmitsburg, Maryland followed its lone medium from Scottsdale, Arizona. The ghost who used to visit medium Nancy Fowler's farm near Conyers, Georgia quit showing up not too long ago. Who knows how many other visionaries have had encounters with Catholic Mary who appeared to them in the burn pattern on a flour tortilla, or a knot in a tree trunk, or a spill on a cement floor, etc.? Are the visitors sent to these mediums by God? Hardly seems likely, given God's clear disapproval of mediums and such things.
Think again on the words of Shema:
What has always been true for Israel is still true today, to all believers. There is but one God, who exists as a Triune Godhead. Any and all others who seek to be worshiped are not sent by Almighty God, but are in the service of the deceiver. |
